As a Test Engineering Section Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership, directional and overall management of your Test Engineering section.  You will collaborate with other functional groups locally and/or globally to accomplish organizational and business objectives which include a continuous effort towards reducing test operations cycle time and cost; executing production priorities and strategies; sustaining and improving the key performance indices of the test engineering team through continuous improvement activities/projects.


Plan and Implement Production Priorities and Strategies: Capacity reviews, Unexpected WIP constraints, Scenario changes, Planner changes, Runrate / SOS reviews

  • Evaluate production data (capacity, critical assumptions, tool utilization, consumable usage, headcount requirements)
  • Gather input from area planner, Engineering, and workstation owner
  • Use area metrics to identify opportunities to increase productivity
  • Develop a plan to cover capacity requirements
  • Communicate and delegating and/or implementing the plan in partnership with appropriate stakeholders
  • Follow up to ensure the plan was implemented

Sustain and improve the key performance indices of the test engineering through continuous improvement activities / projects

  • Establish team(s) to work on Continuous Improvement projects
  • Implement Productivity Improvement programs

Reduce cost of testing through continuous cost reduction effort

  • Identify the key cost drivers and work on cost reduction programs which include Test Time Reduction activities and evaluating new TORs

Manage Shift Team Members (Direct and Eventual Reports): Staffing reports, training profile reports, Performance feedback, Evaluations and goals

  • Ensure training and cross-training goals are met on shift
  • Mentor participants in production development programs
  • Establish and communicate performance expectations for direct reports
  • Monitor performance of direct reports and provides ongoing performance feedback, mentoring, and career guidance


  • Possesses a Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Possesses good analytical & problem solving skills
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates with a strong understanding of testing of semiconductor and/or storage devices has an added advantage
