DSO National Laboratories (DSO) is Singapore’s national defence research and development organisation. It undertakes indigenous development of advanced defence and weapon systems that provide the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) with the superior technological edge in the battlefield. While its primary focus is to support the SAF, DSO also extends its defence R&D capabilities to support homeland security.

With more than 1,500 defence engineers and scientists pushing the boundaries of science and technology across the domains of air, land, sea, space and cyberspace, DSO develops cutting edge technologies and solutions to enhance Singapore’s defence and national security capabilities.

Today, many of the SAF’s mission-critical systems bear the invisible imprint of our work. We take pride in our ability to fuse our multi-disciplinary expertise into cutting-edge technologies and systems that cannot be commercially procured.

Employer Insight

DSO offers internships of varying durations both locally and overseas. They are specially designed such that undergraduates are exposed to real-life defence R&D work. On top of that, interns get to be immersed in various programmes just like a DSO employee would.
