Job Description

Take on mission-critical challenges. Help to deliver the very latest initiatives. Pioneer ground-breaking innovations. That is the opportunity open to you when you join our Supply Chain Management Graduate Development Programme. Life in this business area is about delivering our engines of customers and spare parts on time and at minimal cost. With operations in 46 countries, a significant order book, and an ever-evolving chain of people, processes and suppliers, it is a major undertaking to ensure that everything works together seamlessly and intelligently. It is far from easy. But to you it will be an opportunity. A chance to contribute to real projects, share your ideas and take pride in your achievements.

The Programme

Lasting for 18 months, our Supply Chain Management Graduate Development Programme will immerse you in real projects, ensuring you gain invaluable hands-on experience. Your programme will vary depending on your interests and business need, but as a minimum it will include three placements in addition to three months spent designing supply chains across all of our business sectors including Civil and Defence Aerospace, Nuclear and Marine. You will be guided by your graduate development consultant and career coach to complete placements that will round out your understanding and experience. And as well as receiving first-class training and support, you will learn from some of the most respected and highly qualified professionals in our business.

What You Will Do

In addition to getting qualified in methodologies like Lean Six Sigma, you will work on real projects that will give you exposure across the full supply chain. As part of that, you will undertake roles such as Materials Resource Planning Controller, Supply Chain Designer or Master Scheduler. So you could find yourself taking responsibility for bringing in the right mix of materials at the right time. Equally, you could be creating logistics plans for our repair network or owning the journey of a high value part from one end of the value stream to the next. You will learn how to tackle bottlenecks, see how new products are put into production and develop an understanding of how everything we do is driven by our customers. All in all, it is an amazing way to gain a strategic overview of our business and see how different teams work together to deliver on an international scale.

What You Will Get

  • Salaries vary by location
  • Paid holiday, including bank holidays (pro rata)
  • International environment
  • Great support from managers and peers
  • Leisure and social activities
  • Other rewards and benefits vary by location

Requirements

We are looking for analytically driven graduates keen on detail and data orientated. You will have a good level of numeracy and analytical skills along with exceptional relationship management and leadership abilities - so you will be someone who knows how to earn trust and inspire respect. Academically, you will need a strong pre-university record and you will either have or be on course for a 2:1 degree, or an equivalent qualification. Inquisitive and resourceful, you will never be short of ideas about how we can do things even better.
