Job Description

  • Design data modeling, analysis services and processing workflow to mine information
  • Develop solutions for data management and analysis
  • Ensure 24/7 Big Data/Analytics platform availability
  • Perform daily system administration to ensure optimal function of the systems
  • Perform system performance analysis and tuning, as well as capacity planning
  • Define and establish effective procedures and guidelines for Big Data Management
  • Track releases of system patches, perform testing to make recommendations on the critical patches and version upgrades to perform
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to internal and external support entities
  • Co-ordinate with internal, external sections, vendors as well as industry peers


  • Degree in Computer Science or any IT-related discipline
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in Big Data/Analytics system support and administration, not limiting to the following:
    • Experience in installing, configuring, patching and upgrading distributed Hadoop on Linux OS
    • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and recovering from node failures in Hadoop cluster
    • Experience in using Hadoop management tool
    • Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystems including Map-Reduce, HBASE, HDFS, PIG, HIVE
  • Experience in RHEL Linux, RDBMS and SQL are essential
  • Certification in Hadoop Administation is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 & 2012 is an added advantage
  • Good interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Possess customer service-oriented attitude
